It's not cold when you're racing!
Alberta's first ever fat bike race is still going strong in 2023!
Join us on Feb 26 and race either your fat bike, not so fat bike or that skinny tire if extra suffering is your thing.
We've got another fun course prepped and ready for you. No fatbike racing experience necessary! This is a fun and low pressure event designed to help you earn your cookies and even win some prizes. It's a good day on bikes and we'd love to see you out.

Equipment
1) FULL FAT Categories in the 6 lap and 4 lap races are restricted to tire widths that are a minimum of 2.8" wide.
2)All other bikes with tire widths less than 2.8" wide may enter the Skinny Vanilla Latte Race Category.
**NO MOTORIZED BIKES ALLOWED FOR THIS RACE.

Full Fat categories (2.8" and over tire size)
Long Course = 6 Laps
Short course=4 Laps
Skinny Vanilla Latte (under 2.8" tires)
4 Laps Short Course only
Kids Race: Kids may ride any bike that suits them. Recommended for age 10 and under.

Sign-on information:
10:00 Sign-on at Shift Happens Bicycle Repair
Sign on closes at 11:00 sharp! There will be no-one available to sign you in after 11am - so don't be lazy.
Race Venue information
The event takes place down at Voyageur Park. For your enjoyment come early to allow for time to pre-ride the course. Once sign on is complete please park your
vehicle at Voyageur Park.
Race schedule:
11:30am: Kids race starts (approx 15min race)
NOON: FULL FAT START: 6 laps Men/Women(approx 60-80min finish for leaders)
12:03: HALF FAT START: 4 laps Men/Women (approx 40-50min for leaders)
1:15pm: SKINNY VANILLA LATTE START - 4 laps Men/Women (approx 50min for leaders. tires under 2.8")
Course:
Start finish will be on the road. Approximate course length TBC closer to event. Lap lengths will be between 3.5-4.5km depending on race day conditions. Event organizers may adjust distance and laps based on race day conditions.
Location of course:
Course located at Voyageur Park, Town of Devon.
Directions to event:
Take highway 60 into Devon. Turn east on Athabaska Ave. Take left onto
Superior St (first stop sign). Turn left onto Saskatchewan drive. First parking
lot to the right. Sign on is at Shift Happens 104-3 Superior Street. There is
parking available down at Voyageur Park or you may ride down the hill to start
of event. No parking at registration (Shift Happens) area during race for
racers.
Prizing:
There will be prizing for each category of this race. With Men/Women separated in results.

This event will be run according to ABA/CC/UCI regulations. Riders are responsible to know and understand them. The ABA complies with and fully supports the UCI anti-doping regulations, the clauses of the world anti-doping code and its international standards in which the UCI anti-doping regulations refer and to the anti-doping regulations of other competent bodies as per the regulations of the UCI

Emergency room located at 101 Erie street Devon
Amenities: Washrooms available on site. No water or food will be provided
ABA guidelines will apply for weather conditions.
